This year, the holidays felt uncertain for Maya, a single mother doing everything she could to provide for her two daughters, Laila and Zuri. After losing her job unexpectedly, even basic groceries became hard to afford. Maya quietly skipped meals so her girls wouldn’t have to, hoping they wouldn’t notice the worry she carried.
When she learned about The Season of Hope Project, she reached out — and everything changed. A volunteer arrived with a Holiday Essentials Box filled with warm coats, groceries, and small gifts for the girls. Laila held her new coat with pride; little Zuri lit up at the sight of her very own storybook.
For the first time in weeks, Maya cried tears of relief instead of fear.
